Sweden's Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle Royal Portrait

Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf posed with the next two heirs in line for the throne—his daughter Crown Princess Victoria, and her daughter, Princess Estelle—in a new official portrait released by the royal family. Although they're not yet in power, the mother-daughter duo steal the show in their matching blue looks.

The photo was taken in Stockholm on December 10, the day of the Nobel ceremonies, but was released today to celebrate 200 years of the Swedish monarchy, People reports.

The Crown Princess, 40, donned family order pins and a ceremonial sash over her blue, high-neck gown. Her head was adorned with the Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara, which features rows of delicate diamonds and large multi-karat aquamarine stones, according to People.

Five-year-old Estelle, didn't wear any regalia, but she still looked cute as a button in a blue Peter Pan collar dress, frilled socks, and Mary Jane shoes. According to Bernadotte tradition, she'll have to wait until she's 18 to wear tiaras like her mother, People reports.

The Swedish royals recently made headlines for hosting their British counterparts, Prince William and Kate Middleton, during their royal tour last week. The activities included a local hockey game, a luncheon at the palace, and a black-tie dinner with Swedish VIPs. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also had tea with Princess Estelle and her little brother, one-year-old Prince Oscar, before leaving the city.

The newly-unveiled portrait is only the latest installment in Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle's coordinating royal looks. They previously matched in light blue summer dresses in July 2017:
